about me
I was very nearly a broadcast journalist. I qualified as one back in 1999, but, to make ends meet, I branched into corporate communications quite by accident and I've been there ever since!
I worked for the market-leading news distribution provider PR Newswire for 16 years - first as a copy editor, then through the client services function and finally as relationships director, where I was responsible for managing partnerships with news agencies, key client groups and other strategic affiliates.
Latterly, my role became more ambassadorial, and I have been lucky enough to travel substantially, presenting on corporate communications and media landscapes at industry and client events in China, the US, India, the Middle East and all across Europe.
I ran training courses and workshops on most elements of PR and media, and devised communications strategies for PR Newswire's erstwhile parent company UBM and many other affiliate groups and charity partners.
But my greatest passion throughout my career has been in helping colleagues, clients and affiliates understand more about the power of the press release. I now hope to bring that experience to a new and diverse set of clients. I truly believe that PR advice should be affordable and available to all, so I'm particularly keen to help those who are just starting out on their communications strategy and are unsure where to turn.
I live in Chesham, Bucks with my wife Sarah and two small daughters, Holly and Tabitha. When things get a bit too My Little Pony, I write, run and follow the fortunes of West Ham United FC with great enthusiasm but precious little reward.
